Costco is such a great resource for many keto items and that definitely holds true here as well. Raw pecans, cinnamon and granulated sugar substitute can all be purchased there as well as at your local grocery store or Amazon.

There are many different brands of granulated sugar and I would say to try out whatever is most convenient for you to find. Each brand has its own pros and cons but again the best way to find your favorite is through trial and error.

For this recipe I used Whole Earth sugar alternative and it is a mix of erythritol and monk fruit. Other brands that I use and like are granulated Swerve and Lakanto.

Make them your own

Not a pecan lover?

Believe it or not, I do have a few friends that are not fans of pecans. Hard to believe, right?! But we circle right back to the fact that everyone’s tastes are different. If you are a pecan disliker, go ahead and try the recipe with your favorite type of nut.

Too sweet?

If by some chance you find these too sweet for your tastes, you have a couple of options. You can cut back on the amount of sweetener you use or you can increase the amount of pecans. Experiment to find your own sweet spot!

Easy cleanup

Whatever you do, make sure that you line the baking sheets with something to make clean up a breeze. I use silicone mats but you can use whatever you have on hand. These nuts are candied and you want to be able to not only remove them easily once they are cooked but also to clean up without soaking pans or screaming and cursing!

Ways to enjoy candied pecans

These are awesome to snack on but can also be thrown in to a salad or added to a vegetable dish like green beans. Let your imagination go wild and don’t forget to share with your friends!

  • Place an egg white in a medium size bowl.

  • Add the cinnamon, vanilla extract and granulated sugar substitute.
  • Stir and mix until thoroughly combined.
  • Add the pecans and stir again until the pecans are thoroughly coated with the sugar mixture.
  • Spread the coated nuts on the prepared baking sheets in a single layer. Take your time here to spread all the nuts out so they do not stick together.
  • Cook the pecans in the preheated oven for approximately 20 minutes. Watch them carefully since oven temperatures vary and the fact that nuts burn easily.
  • Let cool on the pans for 15 minutes. The nuts need to be cool enough to handle so you don't burn your fingers!
  • Remove the nuts from the pans while breaking apart any that are stuck together.
